As we close out 2022 and look forward to 2023, we would like to share some of the highlights of MVS over the past year.

With video becoming a more important part of business communications, MVS embarked on the creation and completion of several videos that included a firm overview, attorney spotlight videos for Luke Mohrhauser and Lars Gunnerson and several others that we will be introducing in the early part of 2023.

We started a consistent social media campaign through Filewrapper, LinkedIn and Twitter that provided informative insights on timely intellectual property topics. • Kevin Kercher and Melissa Mitchell joined MVS.
• Nicholas Krob elected vice-chair of the Licensing Executives Society Iowa Chapter. He will be the chair in 2023.
• Heidi Nebel named Vice Chair of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) Patent Public Advisory Committee and re-appointed to the National Plant Variety Protection Advisory Board.
• Jonathan Kennedy was appointed Associate Member to the American Chemical Society’s Committee on Ethics.
• Luke Mohrhauser named Managing Member of MVS.
• Christine Lebron-Dykeman name to the MVS Management Committee.
• Bruce W. McKee retired from MVS after nearly sixty years at the firm that bears his name.

MVS attorneys and the firm also received some much deserved recognition that included:

• Kevin Kercher received the AUTM Outstanding Volunteer Service Award.
• Edmund Sease received the Drake University Adjunct Professor of the Year Award.
• Heidi Nebel won the Iowa Biotechnology Association Biotech Leader of the Year. She was also selected as one of 5 finalists for the Technology Association of Iowa (TAI) CEO of the Year.
• Christine Lebron-Dykeman, Glenn Johnson and Heidi Nebel honored as 2022 Great Plains Super Lawyers.
• Glenn Johnson, Christine Lebron-Dykeman, Jonathan Kennedy and Kevin Kercher named as Best Lawyers in America. Christine was also named as Lawyer of the Year.
• MVS was recognized by U.S. News – Best Lawyers® for their “Best Law Firms” Tier 1 ranking in Iowa for Copyright Law, Intellectual Property Litigation, Patent Litigation, Patent Law, and Trademark Law.
• MVS won a trademark case at the 8^th Circuit Court of Appeals for our client Running Buddy.
• The Drake University Law School IP Moot Court team coached by Michael Gilchrist and Nicholas Krob finished second in the Dallas Regional Competition and qualified for the National Competition.
