MVS Biotech and Chemical Group Renews Membership in Iowa Biotech AssociationAugust 12, 2015

The Iowa Biotechnology Associationthe state affiliate organization of the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO)was founded in 1994 to unify Iowa’s bioscience industry, academic research institutions and economic development organizations. BIO is a national organization representing more than 1,000 biotech companies, academic institutions, state biotech centers and related organizations in all 50 U.S. states and 33 other nations. After a brief hiatus, MVS has renewed its membership in the Iowa Biotech Association, and its commitment to supporting biotechnological innovation in the state.

A wide variety of biotech industries are represented in Iowa, including businesses involved in development of industrial enzymes, livestock genetics, seed genetics, human gene research, nutraceuticals, pharmaceuticals, advanced bio-composites, biomass technologies and healthy foods/beverages. In addition, a number of international companies specializing in the development new plant hybrids for grains, genetics for beef and dairy production, and enzymes used for ethanol bio-processing are based in Iowa.
